Playgrounds and dog runs at the various parks in Singapore have since reopened and it's time to ease your cuddly companion out of lockdown with a game of fetch or a run around the lush green space – without a leash. A day out to these dog parks, runs, and green fields make a great alternative to the usual stroll around the neighbourhood. Plus, it's sure to make your dog's tail wagging. However, do keep 'em on a leash when you step out of the dog run, or when things get heated up with other doggos. And remember to keep a safe distance of at least one-metre apart from other pet owners.

Deemedas the largestnature wonderland in the heartlands (spanning a whopping 90 hectares), Jurong Lake Gardens is also one of Singapore'sbiggest public dog runs. The 2,200-square-metre grass field is large enough for big dogs – think labrador retrievers, golden retrievers, German shepherds, and huskies – to let their fur down and run freely. Plus, the grass mounds there provide natural obstacles for the dogs to enjoy. To beat the heat, simply guide your pooch to the nearest water point.

While your dog runs up and down the slope aimlessly, you can sit back and relaxat the many tables and benches scattered across the space. Though there is no water point at the park itself, washrooms and watercoolers are only a stone's throw away. However, notethe sign that informs the type of dogsneeded to beleashed and muzzled at all times.

Another one in the north, this dog park is on the smaller side – perfect for a more intimate time with your little buddy. The park itself is triangular shaped, and well-maintained with a cement path along the inner circumference of it. At this site, you’ll have an enjoyable time running in circles (or triangles) with your dog but don’t go too hard as it's quite a distance to get to the watercoolers.
